Beau Coops for Romance Was Born
INFLUENCED BY THE OPULENT GILDED CEILINGS OF THE LATE 1800'S IN THE ROYAL PALAIS IN PARIS, BEAU COOPS PRODUCED A SPECTACULARLY COLOURFUL AND TEXTURED FOOTWEAR COLLECTION IN COLLABORATION WITH ROMANCE WAS BORN EXCLUSIVELY FOR THEIR LIBERACE INSPIRED 10TH ON SCHEDULE SHOW AT MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AUSTRALIA.
Beau Coops have made a name for themselves as the footwear collaborator of choice, with successful projects including Karen Walker, Sass & Bide and of course Romance Was Born who have now collaborated with the brand for a second time.
“For me working with Anna Plunkett & Luke Sales is akin to taking a sip from Alice in Wonderlands cup, and falling down the rabbit hole. While still staying true to the Beau Coops aesthetic, the foundations have been beautifully and psychedelically dressed up in the Romance Was Born world. Beau Coops in Romance Land”, says Founder and Creative Director of Beau Coops, Carrie Cooper.
Complimenting the plethora of prints from the ‘Whispering Angel’ range, Beau Coops delivered a 13-piece range comprising of theatrical thigh high boots with exaggerated ruffle side paneling, slippers with soft fur lining and embellished metal tips, as well as ankle boots and mules with a metallic or suede flared heel.
Brocade in rich gold and imperial blue paid tribute to the fanciful creations of Romance Was Born, while hues of blush, mint and black nod to the Beau Coops palette.
The 'Whispering Angel' show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2016, which was held in Darling Point at the home of renowned gallery owner Rosylyn Oxley, was attended by icons of the art and fashion world including Jenny Kee, Carla Zampatti, Del Katherine Barton, Christine Centenera, Catherine Baba, Tanja Gacic and Margaret Zhang.
